The Hawai\u02bbi Mini-Hub, in collaboration with partners across the National Science Foundation\u2019s Tribal Colleges and Universities Program network, is pleased to announce its first Proposal Writing and Grant Management Workshop, scheduled for May 29 \u2013 June 1, 2026 in Honolulu, Hawai\u02bbi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This workshop is designed to strengthen institutional capacity to develop competitive STEM proposals and effectively manage funded projects. Through a combination of presentations, small-group work, and interactive sessions, participants will engage in the practical \u201cnuts and bolts\u201d of proposal development, evaluation planning, and post-award grant management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop will be offered in two sequential groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group 1 (May 29 \u2013 May 31) <\/strong>will focus on proposal development, review processes, and general grant management. Target participants are those who do not currently have an NSF TCUP grant and are planning to submit a future NSF TCUP proposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group 1 sessions will provide an overview of the NSF TCUP program and its proposal requirements; review the fundamentals of budget development and fiscal management; provide guidance on developing strong intellectual merit and broader impacts statements; and offer strategies related to evaluation, reporting, and performance improvement, among other topics. A mock panel experience will also be provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group 2 (May 31 \u2013 June 1) <\/strong>will focus on Hawai\u02bbi-specific processes and systems for Hawai\u02bbi residents who already have an NSF TCUP grant or experience with NSF TCUP grants. Participants will be offered focused discussion of grant management practices, including common pitfalls and key personnel transitions, and session related to policies and procedures specific to Hawai\u2018i-based institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation is limited to 20 individuals per group<\/strong> to ensure an interactive, high-impact experience. Registration will be first come, first served, based on time of email confirmation<\/strong>, with priority given to Hawai\u02bbi-based participants<\/strong>. \u00a0Please register by April 24<\/strong>. If space allows, Group 1 may be opened to participants from outside Hawai\u02bbi; however, Group 2 is specifically designed for Hawai\u02bbi-based personnel and may not be applicable to those outside the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
